The 1998 Brunello di Montalcino, a solid, dark garnet, with good fruit and spiciness on the nose, is medium-bodied but with much energy and continuity on the palate. On the finish, the plum and red currant fruit is very fresh. Drink: 2004-2010. This wine is superior to the 1997 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, not reviewed, rather hard and tough, with some reduction on the nose. Jun 2003, www.robertparker.com
