The 2021 Brillette has an attractive mixture of red and black fruit scents laced with tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly aggressive tannins, though there is decent body on the tobacco-tinged finish. Prudent élevage may well engender a decent Moulis.
Neal Martin, Vinous (May 2022) Score: 86-88/100 Drink 2025-2032
A Cabernet-dominant blend that is atypical but works well, giving savoury sculpted fruits that feel subdued but ripe, with sinewed muscular tannins, salty cracker salinity on the finish and a mouthwatring uptick that draws out the flavours. One to look out. A buy for me. Eric Boissenot consultant, 50% of production in the 1st wine, 3.75ph, 8IPT, 39ha estate. 32hl/h yield.
Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux (April 2022) Score: 90/100 Drink 2024-2032
