This estate has vastly improved its wines, which remain reasonably priced, yet it is often ignored by many Bordeaux wine consumers. The tightly-knit, closed 2003 was one of the few wines of this vintage that I was only able to taste once. It is concentrated with elevated tannin, a saturated ruby/purple color, subtle smoke, flower, and black currant fruit characteristics, but a backward, broodingly closed palate. Based on this bottle, it will require 5-6 years of cellaring. It should last for 15-20 years. Apr 2006, www.robertparker.com
