Critic Notes

The 2016 Bonnet offers plenty of immediacy in its intense, racy fruit. The tannins are a bit tough today and give the wine a slightly rough around the edges feel. Overall, this is a solid showing from Bonnet, a Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon blend from André Lurton. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com

Score: 85-87/100Antonio Galloni

The 2016 Chateau Bonnet has a delicious bouquet with red cherries and blueberry aromas, polished and well defined with lovely purity. The palate is medium-bodied and sweet on the entry, maybe just a little over-extracted as there is some hardness to the tannin towards the finish, though I suspect it will soften during its barrel maturation. Domaine Georges Roumier Vertical Tasting
A very special thank you to Jordi Orriols-Gil for sourcing the incredible collection below and making this evening possible. It is not often one sits down to a 30-wine vertical tasting over dinner. FINE+RARE Quarterly Report: 2014 Q3
The Market: The Bordeaux market has been suffering for three years now: talk to any merchant about what is selling well and the last thing that they will say is “Bordeaux”.  Those with an interest in prices have been calling the bottom for some time now, though it has had the air of the boy crying “Wolf!”.  That said, it looks ...

Domaine Henri Boillot - Producer Portrait
As Stephen Tanzer outlines in his recent report, Henri Boillot is the first out picking on the Montrachet slopes. The combination of small production and picking early comes from a desire to retain vibrancy and energy in the wines over and above riper styles of Chardonnay found elsewhere in the Cotes de Beaune. This mineral driven “understated” yet “explosive” style ...
