Berry and light mineral aromas and flavors follow through to a medium body, with refined tannins and a clean, fresh finish. Not hugely structured, but a pretty wine. Best after 2010. James Suckling,Wine Spectator 2009.
Chalky mineral notes, an angular personality, and a dark ruby/purple color with some sweet and sour cherry notes with lots of earth and tough tannins raise concerns about how well this wine will age over the next decade. It certainly will last, given its structural profile. Wine Advocate.February, 2009
The 2006 Chateau Berliquet has a rather light, slightly smudged bouquet of earthy red berry fruit mixed with cigar and chalky scents. It is pleasurable, but there is something almost ephemeral about these aromatics. The palate is medium bodied with brusque, quite dry tannin. This Berliquet feels severe in the mouth and tapers quite sharply on the finish. My inclination is that any bottles should be consumed in the near future. Tasted February 2016. Very odd liqueur nose that reminds me of St-Émilion a few years ago. Picked too late? Seems to have had the energy boiled out of it. Not for me.www.jancisrobinson.com, 20 Jan 2010
