2006 Berliquet

The 2006 Chateau Berliquet has a rather light, slightly smudged bouquet of earthy red berry fruit mixed with cigar and chalky scents. It is pleasurable, but there is something almost ephemeral about these aromatics. The palate is medium bodied with brusque, quite dry tannin. This Berliquet feels severe in the mouth and tapers quite sharply on the finish. My inclination is that any bottles should be consumed in the near future. Tasted February 2016.
