Critic Notes

From the family of the late Vincent Mulliez, like Gironville. Blackish. Very chewy finish and lots of concentration on the way. Something like elderberry juice here. No shortage of oomph but this needs time. It’s a bit brutal on the finish at the moment. jancisrobinson.com

Chateau Belle-Vue From a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 20% Petit Verdot, oak, vanilla, forest floor, floral and cassis aromas open to a medium bodied, soft textured wine offering ample fresh cassis and dark cherry. 88-90 Pts Jeff Leve winecellarinsider.com

Another sleeper of the vintage from the southern tier of the Medoc, this wine is an exclusivity of Jeffrey M. Davies’ Signature Selections. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and a whopping 20% Petit Verdot, the 2010 from this big property is a classy wine exhibiting impressive ripeness, a textured, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and oodles of cedary black currant fruit intermixed with tobacco leaf, licorice and incense. Complex, evolved and already drinking well, this wine should continue to offer considerable consumer appeal for at least 5-7 years. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate February 2013

Attractive aromas of berries and toasted oak follows through to a medium body, with round tannins. Lacks a little on the finish. James Suckling jamessuckling.com

2014: THE F+R PICKS. SMITH-HAUT-LAFITTE
They know what they’re doing at Smith-Haut-Lafitte. This is one of the few properties in Bordeaux that really engages with the end customer, and one that is particularly aware of the commercial realities of what they are making. The Cathiards, owners since 1990, have a clear ambition - to be the best - and they are well on this road. ...

Your Guide to Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion
Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion is one of the greatest estates in all of Bordeaux, arguably the King of the Left Bank. Robert Parker has awarded it more 100 point scores than any other wine in the Medoc, equalling Petrus in achieving 12 perfect 100 point scores. Of course, the reputation and quality of the wines from this estate long predate ...

Haut-Brion 2009: Double Magnums & Imperials
Robert Parker calls this 100 point scoring Haut-Brion 2009 "one of the most compelling examples of Haut-Brion ever made" and we have a handful of exceedingly rare 3 and 6 litre formats available...
