Pure, clean, refreshing Pomerol in Vieux Château Certan style. Impressively refreshing and concentrated.  Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2025-2040
The 2016 Bellegrave offers lovely purity and focus in a translucent, midweight style. Bright acids and the significant presence of Cabernet Franc perk up the red stone fruit, blood orange, mint and floral notes. Nuanced and beautifully delineated, the 2016 has much to offer. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
A juicy red with a combination of citrus acidity, medium, firm tannins and a medium finish. Wait and see. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
This is delicious, with a beautifully fresh, vibrant and powerful nose. It shows great depth to the fruit which drills on down, picking up interest as it goes. One of those wines that is deceptively light on the finish but builds in power once it has left your mouth. Owned by Jean-Marie Bouldy, this is certified organic and planted to 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc across just 4ha. Apr 2017, www.decanter.com, Drink: 2025-2040
Jean-Marie Bouldy can produce great Pomerol from his gravel-based vineyard. The 2016 Bellegrave has a straightforward bouquet with black cherries, boysenberry and light marine/seaweed aromas, marrying a little Left Bank austerity into the opulence of Pomerol. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannin, well judged acidity, clean and pure in the mouth though to quibble, it requires a touch more complexity to develop on the finish. I suspect this will improve by the time of bottling. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2020-2035
Medium garnet-purple, the 2016 Bellegrave (Pomerol) is scented of cherries, kirsch, mulberries and plums with tobacco and underbrush notions. Medium-bodied and chewy in the mouth, it's a little lean on fruit. Nov 2018, www.robertparker.com
