Dense and a little rustic but shows a fruit and tannin combination that should help this wine come together in a special way. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
The 2016 Bel-Air is an attractive Lalande de Pomerol to drink young, while the flavors remain fresh and fruity. While many properties in the region aim to make rich, big wines, Bel-Air is very much on the more delicate, gracious side of things. Sweet floral and red berry notes add brightness and lift to the silky finish. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
A new acquisition for Jean-Pierre Moueix. Real substance on the nose – depth and some of the peppery character I'm finding in this vintage. Sweet, luscious palate with slightly less undertow than is promised on the nose. Very slightly green on the finish. Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2022-2032
Has a fresh breezy feel, with dark cherry and plum fruit pushed by a lively licorice snap note. Stays supple and open through the finish. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com
