Not much nose. Thick and rich. Very flattering with some structure there too. Dry finish but I think it will get there.  Apr 2017,, Drink: 2021-2033
Deep, rich ruby in colour and fairly subdued on the nose, with some liquorice notes. The register has turned down towards dark fruits and this is a full, well paced wine that opens up slowly. It lacks some of the vibrancy of its 2015, but still delivers lots to enjoy. Thierry Rustmann and Thibault Cruse are in charge here, blending 95% Merlot with 5% Cabernet Franc. Apr 2017,, Drink: 2025-2040
The 2016 Beau Soleil is a bit blowsy at first, but then finds its balance in the glass. Forward and open-knit, it is made in a style best suited for near- and medium-term drinking. Dark cherry, plum, espresso, wildflowers and rose petals all meld together. The new oak is a bit much at this stage, but otherwise the 2016 is nicely done. Tasted two times.
