Average Score 93.14

From an assemblage of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the fruit was harvested between September 26 and October 4, and the wine reached 14.5% alcohol. Inky in color with licorice, sweet black plum, espresso, smoke, caramel and ripe cherries, this is lush, concentrated, silky and polished, as well as very deep for the vintage. Jeff Leve,
Another brilliant wine of great nobility and finesse, the 2011 Beausejour-Duffau reveals a saturated chalky minerality as well as plenty of blue and black fruits, and fabulous precision and purity. It possesses a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel and a distinctive/singular style only possessed by the greatest wines. Give it 4-5 years of cellaring and drink it over the following two decades. It promises to be one of the longest lived wines of the vintage. At 14.7% alcohol, this is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Apr 2014,
Open and inviting, with almost gushy blueberry, fig and boysenberry fruit at first. But then there's lively acidity stitching the finish together, with bouncy spice and anise notes and a streak of graphite that should emerge more through the élevage. This has some serious range, echoing with fruit and spice. James Molesworth,
A blend of 78% Merlot and 22% Cabernet Franc, the Beauséjour Duffau Lagarosse has a powerful bouquet with lifted red fruits with floral notes underpinned by noticeable creamy new oak. It retains fine definition and is not overpowering. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a very fine structure and great symmetry. This is an excellent Saint Emilion for the vintage that has a lovely caressing finish that belies its backbone. Superb. Tasted April 2012. Neal Martin,
What a beautiful nose of forest floor, dark fruits, sweet tobacco, and blackberries. Full body, with firm and silky tannins and a minerally refined finish. Very polished and well made.
78% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc. Inky cherry. Gorgeously ripe but fresh damsons as well as fresher small dark berries. So perfumed even though there is some chocolatey oak in there too. Bright, deep and long but full of life and intensity with no excess of weight or ripeness and excellent freshness all the way along. Lovely wine.
Attractive fruit with a hint of oak. Acidity is a little strident but it has a firm, long, structured palate. Awkward at the tasting but potential here. Drink 2018-2030.
