This has a very rich, almost decadent nose with pineapple, almond, orange blossom and honey. The palate is rich with an admirable level of botrytis, well balanced with a fine sense of underlying minerality that defines the caressing, spice-tinged finish. Good potential. This is a Bastor-Lamontagne that is rediscovering form. Bravo! Neal Martin, Wine Advocate April 2010

The 2009 is a very respectable Sauternes from Bastor-Lamontagne. The nose is a little muted despite rigorous coaxing with some free sulphur clouding the aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine thread of acidity. It is taut and focused, but I would have preferred more botrytis and viscosity on the comparatively conservative finish. Perhaps this will put on weight with bottle age? I would therefore afford the 2009 two or three years in bottle. Drink 2015-2030 Feb 2013, www.robertparker.com

Ripe pear aromas, pure, rich in texture but less round, more nervous than most, with a refreshing sensation of acidity. Pure, balanced but not the most faithful style of 2009
Not much nose. Rather a simple nose in fact with a hint of burnt sugar. There is acidity and there is sweetness but I can't see much botrytis and it's only medium weight. Alcohol on the end. Simple barley sugar.
