Marco Marengo's 2013 Barolo sees fruit sourced from four vineyards located in the La Morra township. These are Serradenari, Fossati, Boiolo and Roncaglie. Fruit is harvested, fermented separately and assembled later in order to preserve the subtle characteristics of each site. This vintage stands apart for the bright exuberance of the fruit and the noble qualities of the tannins. That characteristic firm silkiness that you get with fruit from La Morra is put proudly front and center. Jun 2017, www.robertparker.com

Jean-Marie Fourrier: Embracing The Future, Preserving The Past
A real highlight on our trip to Burgundy this Autumn was a visit to a producer whom I have admired and collected for many years - Jean-Marie Fourrier. The first time I remember being bewitched by his wines was during the 2011 En Primeur tastings. In such an inconsistent vintage where many wines tasted green and astringent, his range of ...

2011 Barolo: "Intrigante"

Barolo 2016 -Early Vintage Insight
It was about this time last year we bumped into Giovanni Angeli, winemaker of one of Barolo’s top producers – Massolino. He was over in London to promote his latest 2015 releases. Despite the positivity surrounding the ‘15s, Giovanni just couldn’t contain his excitement about the vintage that was to follow. At this time, the wines were still ...

The FINE+RARE Barolo Anteprima 2010
Last week we held one of the most exciting tastings we can remember at our offices: the FINE+RARE Barolo Anteprima 2010. Just over 90 wines from Barolo's finest: from the established names to the young blood, all from what is a clearly excellent 2010 vintage. The growers included F+R favourites Brezza, Ceretto, Cogno, Grimaldi and Oberto; the established stars of ...
