The 1995 Bahans Haut-Brion is an aromatic, round, complex, elegant wine that possesses all the characteristics of its bigger, richer sibling, but less depth and more immediate appeal. Very Graves with its smoky, roasted nose and sweet, smoke-infused black cherry and currant fruit, it should drink well for another 5-6 years. Last tasted, 11/97.

Ch. Haut-Brion is the only classified growth in Pessac-Léognan. Its neighbouring sister estate Ch. la Mission Haut-Brion, while not classified, remains one of the top iconic properties on the Left Bank and in the modern era is intrinsically linked to Ch. Haut-Brion. Since 1983 the properties have been under the same ownership of the Dillon family. The Dillon family purchased Ch. Haut-Brion in 1935 and Ch. la Mission Haut-Brion 48 years later.
