Average Score 92.6

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Badette (composed of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot) leaps from the glass with Black Forest cake, warm black plums and blueberry compote notes with suggestions of baking spices, fragrant earth and menthol plus a waft of lavender. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with black fruit and spicy sparks, framed by firm, rounded tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing long. Nov 2018, www.robertparker.com
Inky, dark, juicy, deep, round and lavishly textured, the wine is long, sweet, rich, fleshy and concentrated. With density and flavor and sweetness of fruit, this is a wine to keep your eye on. Apr 2017, www.thewinecellarinsider.com
The 2016 Badette is a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the first time that the latter has been used. This has a lovely bouquet with superb delineation, so vivid and lively with ebullient red cherries mixed with strawberry and subtle cassis notes, the 50% new oak neatly integrated. The palate is well balanced with fine, slightly grainy tannin, crisp acidity and a dash of black pepper on the finish. I liked the 2014, I liked the 2015 and guess what? I like the 2016. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2021-2045
Crushed-stone and chalk character with dark fruit such as blueberries. Medium to full body and chewy tannins. Done. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
The 2016 Badette is a striking wine. Dark blue and black fruit, smoke, French oak, chocolate and torrefaction abound in this succulent, extroverted Saint-Émilion. Although not at all subtle, the 2016 is very nicely done in a decidedly plush, sumptuous style. The blend is 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, with the Petit Verdot adding a palpable measure of darkness and intensity. Jean-Philippe Fort is the consultant. Tasted two times.
