Another sleeper of the vintage from Angludet, the 2011 exhibits a dark ruby/purple color as well as a sweet bouquet of licorice, spring flowers, black currants and cherries. With medium body, silky tannins, surprising stuffing and succulence, this seductive, lush, well-endowed Angludet can be enjoyed over the next decade. Apr 2014,
This is a generous, ripe, opulent style which is unusual for this vintage. The palate offers plenty of ripe, plummy fruit and blackberries along with velvety, firm tannins and freshness in the finish. Moderately long length. Jeannie Cho Lee MW,
Offers an intriguing range of açaí berry, loganberry and blueberry fruit, with supple texture and a creamy milk chocolate hint on the finish. James Molesworth,
Dark smudgy cherry crimson. Delicate fragrance, fresh red plum and cassis. Silky smooth already, good depth of fruit. Harmonious and fresh and fluid to the end. Well done in this vintage. Jancis Robinson,
Good natural vineyard concentration of black berry fruit, good richness of flavour, a hint of leather and is robust yet elegant. Has a good future. Drink 2015-2025.
A little reductive but some attractive fruit and ripe tannins underneath. Chewy too. Hard to tell completely but yummy. James Suckling,
A blend of 40% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, the d’Angludet has a light redcurrant and raspberry nose that has just a touch of greenness. The palate is well balanced with soft tannins and a spicy core of dusty red fruit. It lacks a little finesse on the finish, but it will do. Tasted April 2012. Neal Martin,
A savoury cassis nose. firm with good fruit but just a bit brutally tannic at the moment.
