Average Score 87.33

The tasty 2004 Alter Ego may turn out to be outstanding. This brilliant effort boasts a deep ruby/purple color as well as abundant amounts of black currant, chocolate, licorice, and espresso characteristics. Lush, heady, and ripe, it will provide lovely drinking over the next decade. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate # 165
Very dark. Full and attention-grabbing but still rather raw and green. Lots of green tannins. Just a bit tart and tough. Shame as this is a wine that was created expressly to appeal to those looking for smart wines that age fast enough to be useful on airlines.www.jancisrobinson.com, 6 Aug 2008
Aromas of currant and mineral, with hints of toasty oak. Medium-bodied, with silky tannins and a medium finish. Slightly hollow midpalate. The second wine of Palmer. Best after 2010.James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2007
