That Boutique-y Whisky Company has developed a cult-like following for bottling fun and interesting world whiskies in illustrated 50cl bottles since it launched in 2012.
The team buys young and mature whisky direct from the distiller or from brokers and other independent bottlers. If That Boutique-y Whisky Company isn’t able to name the originating distillery, they often put the liquid in their own labels or create new brands to house it. Appealingly, the retail price for its bottlings is always based on the cost of the liquid rather than its (often much higher) market value.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company has been releasing exciting Rye (with whiskies from Denmark, the UK and USA) and Wheat Series, and having fun with whiskies from the UK, West Coast of America, New Zealand and Tasmania. They are driven by thinking in blenders’ terms, experimenting with flavours like potpourri and how that might marry with coconut biscuits or bourbon biscuits.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company’s ethos is that whisky is for drinking and they seek out interesting and fun liquids that you won’t see in an official distillery bottling.
Parent company Atom Brands independently bottles three other whisky series – The Character of Islay, Wind & Wave and Darkness.
