We are delighted to offer a rare opportunity to own a superb collection of whiskies from one of Japan’s finest distilleries: the Limited Edition range from Yamazaki. Containing all three releases from the range so far, this is an eye-catching buy to tempt any whisky lover.
The Yamazaki Limited Edition range was launched in 2014 and now contains three different releases (the 2014, 2015 and 2016). Each one is a blend of 20 year old Yamazaki aged in Sherry and Port barrels, with younger Bourbon cask aged whisky that has been carefully selected by Suntory's Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo for its intense character. FINE+RARE has managed to curate seven bottles of each release and brought them together into seven collections. Each bottle is in its original packaging.
Yamazaki was established in 1924 just outside of Kyoto and was the starting point for Japanese Single Malt. With Japan now hot on the heels of Scotland for the pedigree and desirability of its whiskies, Yamazaki is widely coveted as a benchmark of what the country can offer. Whisky expert Jim Murray is a fan: Yamazaki has won “Japanese Whisky of the Year” for three years running, and is the only Japanese distillery to ever win his prestigious “World Whisky of the Year” (2013). In Murray's most recent Whisky Bible, he awarded the distillery a raft of high scores. The highest of these, the Single Malt Sherry Cask, earnt 97.5 points and is priced at between £2000-£3000 a bottle. With this in mind, this three bottle Limited Edition collection offers an excellent snapshot of a titan of Japanese Whisky, at a fraction of the price…
As the name suggests, these bottles are extremely rare and only available from a handful of sources, usually individually, making this chance to own all three extremely compelling. Each bottle is beautifully presented in a collector’s case adorned with individual sketches of the distillery. Combined as a trio, they will make a stylish addition to any collection or a perfect gift for a very lucky loved one.
