Three Superb Releases from Jaboulet

2015 is one of the best vintages the Rhône valley has had in years. According to Jeb Dunnuck, it is a truly sensational vintage that should not be missed by any Rhône lover out there, which “rivals or surpasses” the acclaimed 2010s and 2009s. As a result, the top 2015 wines have been hotly-contested on release.

One of the most in demand wines is Paul Jaboulet Aîné’s Hermitage La Chapelle, which we are currently scouring the market for more of. The flagship wine from one of the region’s greatest producers, it won a potential 100 points from the Wine Advocate and has been described as “a tour de force that’s going to have three to four decades of longevity”. However it is not the only great wine to come from Jaboulet in 2015…

The 2015 Cornas St Pierre is one of our picks. Dunnuck called it “an absolute blockbuster that blew me away” and gave it 94 points.

Equally exciting is the 92-94 point 2015 Crozes Hermitage Domaine Roure, which Vinous’s Josh Raynolds called “outstanding” and Dunnuck pronounced “possibly the best vintage to date”.

Finally, the 2015 Hermitage La Maison Bleue (previously known as La Petite Chapelle) is another stunning effort from Jaboulet. Dunnuck goes as far as to call it “a better wine than a number of older La Chapelle releases” and predicts it will “offer immense pleasure over the next coming two decades”. With a score of 92-94 points, it’s certainly an eye-catching buy.
