The Glenrothes John Ramsay Legacy is one of the most collectable whiskies to be released onto the market this year. Made to commemorate the retirement of Master Distiller John Ramsay, it is a beautiful whisky that would make a wonderful part of any collection.
John Ramsay, the distiller behind the exceptional quality at The Glenrothes since the early 1990s, was asked to create something utterly exceptional as his very last blend. The result is the Legacy, a blend taken from thirty specially selected second fill Oak Sherry casks filled between 1973 and 1987. These were gradually married together to leave a whisky of sublime quality, fit to bear the name of one of Scotch Whiskies most important figures for the final time.
The reputation of the man has meant that these individually numbered bottles have been fiercely fought over by collectors. Stocks are selling out across the market in the face of huge demand and the fact that it will soon disappear is inevitable. As such now may well we one of the last opportunities to acquire a bottle before they all disappear.
