"Juicy and stylish in a European style, conveying an impression of delicacy and terrific penetration." - Stephen Tanzer Vinous

"A giant. Not only in Argentina’s strong suit in terms of power, it also shows finesse and aromatic complexity." - James Suckling

Having been fortunate to taste all the recent blockbuster September releases back to back - from Masseto to Opus One – the team at FINE+RARE was blown away by the quality and refinement of the latest release from Catena Zapata: Nicolas Catena Zapata 2015. At the current price point, this Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend seems incredible value for a wine of this world class quality.

We couldn’t agree more with Stephen Tanzer of Vinous and James Suckling, who outline an almost European style to the wine, with excellent “finesse” and “refinement” to the palate.

For those wine lovers amongst us who want the clarity of fruit from the New World, but the refined tannin structure of Europe, this feels like an exciting mid-way point that manages to successfully marry both. The wine has a wonderful nervy tension and freshness, great purity, layered tannins, verve and energy on the palate. Highly recommend.
