Mischief and Mayhem have long been one of our favourite Burgundian wineries. Their stripped-back, simple approach to Burgundy is a breath of fresh air in the myriad complexities of the region.

The domaine was founded in 2003 by British wine trade veterans Michael Ragg and Fiona Traill-Stevenson. Nearly 15 years later, Mischief and Mayhem have carved a name for themselves as a serious player in progressive, artisanal Burgundy. They have cultivated some excellent grape sources, which they harness to full potential through impeccable attention in the winery.

2015 is fast becoming a must-have vintage. Stephen Tanzer has states that "2015 will be a difficult vintage to top", Jancis Robinson says "the 2015 reds are seriously impressive", Allen Meadows calls it "a great vintage, indeed the greatest since the legendary 2015" and Steen Öhman speculates that "these wines could be among some of the best Burgundies produced in my time."

We hosted Michael Ragg of Mischief & Mayhem in our office last week and were very impressed with the 2015s. You'll find our pick of the reds below.
