We are delighted to offer a selection of bottles from Gordon & MacPhail's Glen Grant Rare Vintage 40% range. These are fantastic whiskies from Gordon & Macphail, the Malt Whisky experts whose name “makes the heart of us whisky veterans skip a beat” - Jim Murray (The Whisky Bible).

Gordon & MacPhail was established in 1865 and are widely seen to be pioneers in malt whisky. They buy barrels from the most highly-regarded distilleries in Scotland, mature them for decades and then bottle them under their own unique labels.

The superb Glen Grant range is among Gordon & Macphail’s most exciting offerings. Glen Grant has been a premium producer of world-class Malts for nearly two centuries. Their whisky is world-renowned for its light, gentle character, due in part from the unique, almost square, section between the stills’ pot and the neck and the purifiers on the lye arms. This delicacy has been developed and defined by the masterful maturation of Gordon & MacPhail.

These Glen Grants are certainly something special. The 1950 and 1952 (the latter earned a staggering 96.5 points from Jim Murray) were made under Douglas Mackessack – founder James Grant Junior’s grandson – who believed “The character of whisky is determined not by the purity of the spirit manufactured, but by the impurities left in the spirit.” The 1953 and 1954, meanwhile, were made after the merger with Glenlivet, meaning that these four whiskies offer an interesting snapshot into Glen Grants’ history. These are beautiful and extremely collectable whiskies...
