We are delighted to offer the “awesome” 2006 Camartina from Querciabella, available at GBP 323 per case of six bottles in bond or GBP 110 per magnum in bond. With 95 points from Galloni, this is a powerful, gripping Tuscan worth a place in any collection.
Antonio Galloni is the leading authority on Italian wine, so when he praises a producer you can be sure that they are one to watch. With this in mind, his comments on Querciabella are very eye-catching: on tasting their 2006 releases, he described the estate as “one of the leading lights of Tuscany” and the Camartina as having potential to become “one of the finest versions of this wine ever made”.
Seven years have passed since this tasting and, with a decade of maturity, the Camartina has now settled in the middle point of Galloni’s drinking window, making it the perfect wine to drink right now as well as having the structure to withstand further cellaring.
Available in either cases of six bottles, individual magnums or rare imperials - perfect for entertaining - this really is an unmissable buy.
