The “unimpeachable” 2013 Graveyard Vineyard Shiraz from Brokenwood was awarded 97 points by James Halliday, his second highest-ever score for this wine. Not usually one for hyperbole, Halliday advised: “There is only one thing to do: buy as much as you/your partner can afford.”
It is rated as “Exceptional” by the Langton’s Classification; the highest possible ranking on what is the benchmark for Australian fine wine. Langton’s says: “With its superb individuality, distinctive regional authenticity and potential for longevity, Brokenwood Graveyard Vineyard Shiraz is the Hunter Valley’s greatest red wine of the modern era.”
Brokenwood’s flagship wine also received high scores from Jancis Robinson and Josh Raynolds of Vinous, making this world-class Shiraz worthy of very serious consideration.
