Hegarty Chamans is a winery co-owned by Sir John Hegarty and his partner Phillipa Crane. Since purchasing the property in 2002 they have invested heavily into the vineyard and winery in order to produce some of the finest examples of red and white wines from the Minervois Appellation in the heart of Southern France.
The philosophy behind the fully organic and biodynamic winery is individualism and not being afraid to stand out from the crowd. In a region where large volume production is the norm, Hegarty Chamans’ wines are made with meticulous attention to detail and sparing no expense or labour.
Their top cuvée, Black Knight, is made from the best selected parcels with additional selection on the table de tri to ensure the fruit represents their premium grapes. Winemaker Jessica Servet, says "Black Knight is only produced in years when everything is in balance - the fruit has to be perfectly ripe and healthy."
The result of this determination and investment can be seen in the quality of the 2012 Hegarty Chamans Black Knight, which at £140 for six is extraordinarily good value, given the care taken to make it.
A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan, Robert Parker says it “lives up to its name” and we believe it is a seriously exciting cuvée from a winery determinedly putting Languedoc on the map.
We are delighted to offer the 2012 Vintage, plus a number of Collection Cases, containing two bottles each of the below. They are ready for immediate delivery.
