2015 Two Paddocks

We are delighted to present the latest vintage from Two Paddocks with scores of up to 97 points. The wines from this incredible winery have sold out every time we have offered them so far and we expect this superb 2015 vintage, for which Jancis Robinson notes that "Central Otago enjoyed plenty of ripeness in the Pinot Noir", to be no exception...

With high scores from the critics, particularly New Zealand experts like Sam Kim, Raymond Chan and Bob Campbell MW, these incredible finds are unmissable buys for all fans of Pinot Noir...  Two Paddocks also benefits from a great story. Founded in 1993, it is owned and run by Hollywood actor Sam Neill. Sam was born in Northern Ireland but raised in New Zealand’s wine country, an upbringing which gave him a life-long interest in wine. He began with a few acres of Pinot Noir in Gibbston in 1993, and has since expanded to include four distinct vineyards. Sam is passionate about the quality of his terroir and the role it plays in producing beautifully refined, understated Pinot Noirs that stand out from the Central Otago crowd. He has previously commented: We are slightly quieter wines. Lots of Central Otago wines go “wow” – ours are kind of “come and get us”.

We first met Sam in our London office in 2016, when he took us through the previous vintages. The wines were fantastic then and, given the scores this year, seem to be going from strength to strength. The Single-Vineyard Fusilier, Last Chance and First Paddock are all especially compelling, with scores of up to 97 points. In Sam’s own words: “In some exceptional vintages, listening carefully, we realize that one [of our vineyards] may have something extraordinary to say in its own right. It is only then that we will make one of these very rare single-vineyard wines."

This approach yields superb results; these are unpretentious but incredibly elegant wines that are a joy for Pinot lovers. We are therefore delighted to have secured this direct allocation from Two Paddocks, including a considerable number of the very rare single-vineyard wines. We expect them to sell very quickly, so please see below for remaining availability:
