"Pure hedonism... Liquid glamour"
18 POINTS – JANCIS ROBINSON
Château Palmer’s 2010 is undoubtedly a benchmark vintage for this iconic estate. Winemaker Thomas Duroux – who arguably knows the last 70 vintages of Palmer better than anyone – believes the 2010 not only comfortably sits alongside the great Palmer vintages of 2005, 2009, 2015 and 2016, but actually believes it eclipses them when it comes to depth and detail.
This is the first time Château Palmer has offered the 2010 since its initial release – and Duroux has confirmed it will also be the very last opportunity to source the wine directly from the château.
Aged in optimum conditions for the last 10 years in Palmer’s cellars, Duroux believes the wine is now entering its very long drinking window. With recent rave reviews, a 50+ year drinking window and perfect provenance, this is an enticing opportunity to secure a piece of Palmer history to enjoy over the years.

"One of the great years of Bordeaux now at 10 years old and showing why this is such an unusual vintage in terms of the depth of structure and muscular concentration that was achieved. In fact, I am upping the drinking window from the last time I tasted this, as there is such a pulse of life and grip that shows no signs of going anywhere. The initial layers are starting to be peeled back, but this retains primary black and blue fruits that are still full of flesh alongside baked earth, tons of liquorice and black chocolate with a grippy tannic structure, fresh acidities and a serious attitude. Brilliant stuff, that is clearly going to power on for decades. Drink 2022-2048."
