2019 CHATEAU LYNCH BAGES

PAUILLAC

"This takes hold from the first moment and powers along, delivering a ton of black brambly fruit, liquorice, grilled cedar and Pauillac confidence."

97 POINTS - JANE ANSON, DECANTER

Today sees a top Bordeaux 2019 release from the highly popular, quintessential Pauillac estateChateau Lynch Bages

The whole range of wines from the wider Cazes family of estates is outstanding in 2019 and Chateau Lynch Bages is the pick of the lot. It exudes everything that is so great about the 2019 vintage. The concentration and purity of fruit, beautifully married to a graphite mineral freshness, is sublime. This is pure Pauillac power and structure but with a richness on the mid-palate that adds real flesh and finesse. As Jean-Charles Cazes states, "It is this warmth of the vintage that brings suppleness to the wine, as the freshness exudes from the union of graphite minerality and the mouthwatering Cabernet Sauvignon tannins".

The energy and layered complexity on the palate makes this one of the most exciting releases in 2019 and comes highly recommended by the team at F+R.

Gorgeous dense, focussed aromas -dark black fruit both fresh and ripe, scented tea leaf, clove, vanilla, chocolate, tobacco, graphite. Stacked fine, close-knit tannins provide impressive detail, density and intensity on the palate. There is fantastic energy in this wine, pulsing as a glycerol-rich fleshy concentration of fruit washes over a stony minerality. There is finesse and power and so much minerality. Stunning wine.

"This takes hold from the first moment and powers along, delivering a ton of black brambly fruit, liquorice, grilled cedar and Pauillac confidence. The tannins are pretty chewy, really closing in on the end of play, giving no doubt that this is going to age slowly and for many decades, but there is a creaminess to the overall structure that is already evident.
