Yesterday afternoon saw the release of 2014 Grand-Puy-Lacoste. This was one of our favourite wines of the vintage, and at GBP 375 per dozen in bond it looks good, though one can buy the 2008 and the 2006 for a similar sum. Whatever one might think of the price, the wine is excellent: pure Pauillac, complete and fresh.
This morning sees the release of another F+R favourite: the brilliant Feytit-Clinet. At GBP 325 per dozen in bond this has to be a buy. Quantities of this seductive, Chambolle-esque Pomerol are tiny and this property remains under the radar for the moment.
Chx Pavie and Pavie-Decesse have also released at GBP 1,655 and GBP 729 per dozen respectively. The style here splits opinions tough Pavie in particular is very impressive for fans of turbo-charged St Emilion.
