Amazing Parcels of 2015 Grand Cru and 1er Cru sites

FINE+RARE is pleased to announce the most hotly-anticipated release of the year. Domaine Leroy have released a selection of their 2015 Domaine wines for the first time on to the global market through F+R.
Antonio Galloni from Vinous describes Domaines Leroy’s 2015s as: “…absolutely stellar. The wines capture all the natural radiance and intensity of the year… above all else, the 2015s faithfully convey the essence of site”. He goes on to describe tasting the Domaine Leroy 2015s “as a viscerally thrilling experience”.
William Kelley of the Wine Advocate ( was equally wowed by Domaine Leroy 2015s stating that “Domaine Leroy has produced a simply extraordinary range of wines”. His visit to the winery ranks as one of the greatest tastings of his life. “These Burgundies’ ineffable completeness, profound concentration without weight, and beautifully delineated terroir-driven personalities exhaust superlatives, and their sense of energy and vibrant flavors make many 2015s seem ponderous by comparison”.
FINE+RARE have the largest allocation for these wines in Europe, offering them at first release prices and delivering direct from the Domaine to our warehouse ensuring the highest level of provenance for some of the most sought-after and collectible wines on the planet.
Domaine Leroy is Lalou Bize-Leroy's own wine, produced entirely under her supervision from first bud to final bottle. Made only from grapes grown on her own vineyards, these bottles with their famous red wax capsule are the most highly praised and desired releases from the Leroy portfolio.
Widely acknowledged as one of Burgundy’s greatest domaines, the Domaine Leroy name has become a byword for impeccable quality. After co-managing Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy’s empire now comprises three entities: Domaine d’Auvenay, Domaine Leroy and the Maison Leroy Collection. Domaine Leroy forms the top tier and for many the pinnacle of Burgundian wine.
Rather than trying to sell everything at once, Leroy holds their wines back, releasing them only when they are deemed ready. These releases are always met with huge anticipation and allocations sell out rapidly, making Leroy wines among the most sought-after in the world. For current releases please click here.

“I can only describe tasting through a complete flight of bottled Leroy as one of the great wine experiences in the world.” Antonio Galloni, Vinous (2015)

“Lalou Bize-Leroy doesn’t miss a beat. The years may pass, but Bize-Leroy remains a beacon of uncompromising quality and a fountain of strong deeply held convictions.” Antonio Galloni, Vinous (2014)

“This is the greatest estate in Burgundy…” Robert Parker

“The sheer concentration, depth and intensity Lalou Bize-Leroy manages to squeeze into her bottles is breathtaking.” Clive Coates MW

Allen Meadows (Burghound) enthuses that: “The descriptor ‘stunning’ isn’t praise enough…”

“Lalou Bize-Leroy. The controversial Lalou must drive many Burgundians crazy given the extraordinary quality of her wines, and the high prices they fetch. She is un uncompromising winemaker, with a portfolio of red and white Burgundies that qualitatively have no peers.” Robert Parker

Available Now: Maison Leroy Collection

The Maison Leroy Collection wines are effectively Madame Leroy's negociant arm. Each year her three courtiers present her with a selection of unlabelled wines and she tastes them with no knowledge of price or provenance. Staking her considerable reputation on her expert palate and market knowledge, she selects the Maison’s outturn from what she has tasted. Completing the elevage herself, she makes the selected wines sing.

We visited Auxey-Duresses in February to taste this year's releases with Leroy's Gilles Desprez. As expected, the collection was incredible, and it was met with fervent interest when we offered the wines to our clients a few weeks later.

We currently have Maison Leroy's 2014 Bourgogne Rouge available. The 2014 vintage is a real classic vintage for red Burgundy offering great freshness as well as concentration. The pinot noir has a dark, bright core. Very pure, inviting, attractive, perfumed nose. Fleshy dark cherry, redcurrants and fresh raspberry. The wine is nicely weighted and shows excellent balance throughout, with core of sweet red fruit supported by bright, refreshing acidity. Not overripe, more classic in feel than the 2015, for example. This is a very pretty, delicious and beautifully defined Bourgogne Rouge release from Leroy, given its fleshy fruit character and composition and balancing acidity, mean it can be enjoyed early, or will definitely reward 5-10 years cellaring.

We also have a small amount of the amazing 2015 Bourgogne Blanc from Maison Leroy. Pale lemon in colour. Very aromatic at this young stage, white peach, honeysuckle and blossom leaping from the glass with a touch of ripe yellow pear. Nicely weighted and very fresh in the mouth. Shows the open and inviting nature of whites in the 2015 vintage but still very young and possessing of more than enough acid, fruit and texture to suggest that it will fill out and keep improving in bottle.

Critical Acclaim

Lalou Bize-Leroy’s wines are the benchmark against which practically all Burgundy is assessed and critics and collectors hold them in the highest esteem. According to Decanter Magazine: “Their finesse and persistence of flavour is extraordinary.” And as Robert Parker puts it: “Today, this is the greatest estate in Burgundy, producing uncompromising wines of irrefutable longevity and intensity.”
