Vincent Bouzereau

Vincent and Aline, both bourguignons, believe that every grape is a gift of nature, and they want to pass their rich heritage onto their children. Vincent is the 4th known generation of winemakers in his family on his father’s side, and his maternal grandfather and great-grandfather were courtiers in Volnay. Aline is a descendant of the house of courtiers of Edouard Delaunay, founded in 1893. The eldest of their 6 children is already involved and will certainly continue the family business. Vincent Bouzereau became winemaker in 1990 and has continued the tradition of being personally involved in the vineyard. Over several years he has acquired, little by little, further small and varied parcels from villages, premiers crus and grands crus, both red and white, across the Côte de Beaune so it now has 11 hectares. The house is in the heart of Meursault village where the single cellar vault is 8 metres wide and 15 etres long. A second cellar was finished in 2006 to add to this space. White wines are placed in oak for the fermentation where they stay for 12 to 18 months before bottling. The exception is Aligoté which is fermented and stored free from oxygen exposure. Once red wine fermentation is finished, it is pressed then rests in open vessels before going into oak barrels for aging. New oak is between 15 and 30% depending on vintage.
