We are delighted to offer the newly released Whisky Bible’s Scotch Blend of the year: The Last Drop 50 Year Old “Double Matured” Blended Scotch. With 97 points it is just half a point behind Murray’s highest score in history and the best-ever for The Last Drop’s prestigious releases.
This latest Last Drop release - only their sixth ever - is a premium blend of 50 different Scotch whiskies expert Jim Murray described as “a superstar” that “simply caresses your soul” and made it a multi-award winner:
Awarded 97 points, a “superstar whisky” 2016 Blend of the Year (26-50 Years) 2016 Scotch Blend of the Year
All previous releases of Last Drop releases have completely sold out on the entire global market, with collectors and drinkers alike quick to take up their allocation. With this the highest scoring ever, it will no doubt follow suit.
The inherent rarity and exclusivity, backed-up by world-class quality. means it is also a brand gaining serious recognition and status - exemplified by a previous release of the 50 year old selling for HKD 87,750 or £7,855 (three times its retail price) in a charity auction in Sotheby’s Hong Kong last May.
FINE+RARE are privileged to have received the most significant allocation of this exceptional scotch, and we are delighted to offer:

Nose: A curious mix of cherry-drop candy and shoe polish: pungent fruity and lively. None of the tired oak you might expect to turn-up. taste The cherry-drops are there on impact, intensely so, with a further oily spiciness making for a busy, warming and juicy experience. Finish: Here’s the thing: you expect those gathering oak tones to turn a tad tired and worn. But they never do. Instead, the spices buzz and a little manuka and heather honey face the oak to inject just that small degree of sweetness required for a happy ending. Balance: You’d expect, after half a century in wood, that this would be a quiet dram, just enjoying its final years with its feet up and arms behind its head. Instead we have a fairly aggressive blend determined to drive the abundant fruitiness it still possesses to the very hilt. It is backed up all the way by a surprising degree of warming, busy spice. There is a hell of a lot of life in this beautiful ol’ dog.
