The 2015 Teyssier is a great introduction to the vintage. Dark, juicy and inviting, the 2015 exudes the richness of the year. Sweet floral, spice and new leather notes meld into the supple, silky finish. This is a gorgeous, modern Saint-Émilion from Jonathan Maltus. Naturally, the top wines in the range have more concentration, but then again, its impossible to argue with the value proposition here. The production of around 50,000 cases for a wine of this level is simply remarkable. Apr 2016, www.Vinous.com

The 2015 Teyssier is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc picked from 21 September until 8 October, the Cabernet picked from 9-15 October. Matured in 20% new oak, it has a sweet red cherry and blueberry scented bouquet that is lifted nicely by the new oak. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet red and black fruit on the entry. There is a pastille-like purity here, nicely balanced with a smooth and seductive finish. You can really see the wide commercial appeal of this well-crafted Saint Emilion. It will drink earlier than others, but should give ten years of drinking pleasure. Apr 2016, www.eRobertParker.com, Drink: 2018-2026

A balanced and pretty red with walnut and berry aromas and flavors. Medium to full body. Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com

This has a very friendly, juicy, rounded core of plum, blackberry and raspberry fruit, backed by silky tannins and carrying through the generous finish. Mar 2016, James Molesworth, www.WineSpectator.com

Dark crimson. Rather sweet, dried-fruit aromas. But then there is freshness and this is an appetising whole. Just a bit of candy aromatically. Apr 2016, www.JancisRobinson.com, Drink: 2023-2035
