Benoît Tarlant and his family succeed in producing innovative, full-bodied, intense and well-structured Brut (Nature) Champagnes from their 14-hectare holdings in the Marne valley. The non-vintaged Brut Argilité is probably the first Champagne that is fermented and raised in an amphora. From the 55 parcels (planted with Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as well as Pinot Blanc, Petit Meslier and Arbanne), the family bottles a few single vineyard Champagnes - of which the mineral and complex Vigne d'Antan is a vintaged Chardonnay from ungrafted vines, whereas La Vigne d'Or is a vintaged Pinot Meunier from a plot whose Meuniers had been planted in 1947.
