A lovely Champagne, offering a rich and expressive palate of dried strawberry and white peach fruit, with toasted hazelnut, pastry, candied ginger and lemon curd flavors set in a fine and elegant frame. Long and creamy on the satiny finish. Dec 2015, www.winespectator.com, Drink: 2015-2031
Take Taittinger's prodigious chardonnay and add 15% pinot noir to create this masterful prestige rosé that has a mid red hue and plenty of assertive pinot red fruits on the nose. Really impressive aromas of Turkish delight, cherries, chalky minerals and pink grapefruit. The palate has a fine core with some bolder red fruit flavors and pinot noir weight. Really impressive, deep and even, with much to come if you hold for three to five years before drinking. Jul 2015, www.jamessuckling.com
Taittinger's 2006 Comtes de Champagne Rosé has come along nicely over the last six months. Intensely perfumed, Pinot-inflected aromatics carry through the mid-palate and finish as the 2006 shows off its depth and pure energy. Veins of chalky minerality give the red berry and cranberry flavors an extra kick of energy. The 2006 is both powerful and delicate at the same, with crystalline precision and fabulous depth. Hints of orange peel, mint, cinnamon and cranberry add further shades of nuance on the complete, beautifully articulated finish. Jul 2015, www.vinous.com, Drink: 2015-2036
The lively mousse carries this sophisticated wine, which is the perfect partner to the Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs. Everything is in its place, well integrated and with great precision. This trends to the sweeter side of Brut but with bottle age this has brought fine secondary flavors that are ripe and rich. The wine will age further, drink until 2020. Dec 2015, www.wineenthusiast.com
Taittinger's 2006 Comtes de Champagne Rosé blends Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with 16% red wine, mainly from Bouzy. Lovely, pure and fresh on the nose, with spicy sweet cherry aromas and red berry flavors, this is a rich and potent, full-bodied and firmly structured Rosé with nice purity and freshness. The finish reveals a sweet intensity and good length. Jun 2016, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2021-2028
70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay. Pale salmon pink. Floral, if very light, nose. Off dry with a lightly bitter finish. More than a hint of cough medicine about this – in a nice way! For food – but ready to drink at the table. Jun 2016, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2012-2020
An absolute standout. Fresh, ripe field raspberry, lovely florality on the nose. Intense, rich pinot core complemented with elegant autolotyic notes; vanilla, toasted almonds. Incredibly poised with clean lines of ripe acidity, soft tannins giving the palate a bit more weight. Long finish. Mar 2017, FINE+RARE
