The 2015 Saint-Pierre de Corbian is powerful and a bit rough around the edges, but it nevertheless possesses notable concentration for the appellation. Smoke, cedar and tobacco are nicely delineated, but the tannins remain burly and a bit coarse. The 2015 isn't especially polished, but it is quite good for the year. A firm and silky red with blueberry and blackberry aromas and flavors. Medium body, fresh finish. Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com

A touch brisk-edged, with plum pit and bitter cherry notes structured by a light, minerally spine. Shy on stuffing. Mar 2016, James Molesworth, www.WineSpectator.com

A Stéphane Derenoncourt wine. Heady nose. Jewelly rich on the nose. Much sweeter than the average wine from this appellation. Very dry on the end but in a local way. Not one of the most flamboyant wines from this appellation. Apr 2016, www.JancisRobinson.com, Drink: 2023-2032
