This is sufficiently reduced that it presently masks the fruit and if you're tempted to try a bottle in its youth I would strongly advise decanting it first. Otherwise there is outstanding density to the focused and powerful middle weight plus flavors that stain the palate with dry extract that also helps to buffer the intensely mineral-driven finale that just goes on for minutes. This is flat out brilliant though note that it will not be an early drinker. In sum, this is a genuine 'wow' wine. Jun 2015, www.burghound.com, Drink 2026+

(Boillot's four-hectare monopole within Les Perrières features a range of soil types; he takes two days to pick this fruit, assembling his batches at the very beginning): Knockout nose combines ripe stone fruits, lemon, lime, smoky minerals, clove and marzipan. Sappy and thick, with the brisk lemon and lime fruit element currently dominated by soil-driven saline minerality. This very backward, salty wine boasts terrific breadth and more than enough extract to buffer its five grams of acidity. Splendid. Sep 2016, www.vinous.com, Drink 2021-2031

Lifted nose of blossom, mandarin and fresh cut pear. Lovely textural, giving palate with ripe orchard fruit, lemon, brioche and beeswax. Nervy acidity provides freshness and energy. Long minerality on the finish.Dec 2015

Since taking full control of the family estate, Domaine Jean Boillot, in 2005, winemaker Henri Boillot has become renowned for the sheer quality of his wines, made using vines which are more than 60 years old. He renamed the estate Domaine Henri Boillot soon after taking it over to eliminate confusion with his brother’s estate, Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot.Boillot’s negociant arm, Maison Henri Boillot, is a benchmark producer of French estate wines which are outstanding examples of some of the Cote d-Or's most prestigious crus. From village-style Meursaults to Le Montrachet, Boillot’s wines have an intense minerality and are structured, linear and ageworthy. Although Henri does not own the vineyards from which his grapes are sourced, he farms them as meticulously as his own and uses the same methods to make the wines.
