Average Score 89.5

Here there is more obvious floral and citrus influence to the white orchard fruit suffused nose that introduces cool and pure middle weight flavors that display plenty of underlying tension as well as fine detail on the restrained and markedly dry finish that is moderately austere. This beautifully balanced effort is notably more structured than the average Puligny villages in 2012 and will require a minimum of 3 to 4 years of cellar time before it's ready for prime time. Tasted: Jun 15, 2014. Drink: 2019+
Tasted blind at Farr Vintners Kumeu/White Burgundy tasting. The 2012 Puligny-Montrachet Village from the late Anne-Claude Leflaive is reticent on the nose: withdrawn sea spray scents flanked by sherbet and tangerine peel that develop in the glass and lend complexity and vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with a lime cordial-driven entry. This is well balanced with a pleasant fatness to it, subtle tangerine and apricot toward the finish that offers satisfying salinity. This is a fine village cru that should drink well over the next decade. eRobertParker.com.May, 2015
