This is another 1994 Margaux that appears to have lost considerable richness and intensity over the last year. The wine displays a medium dark ruby color and obvious evidence of spicy, toasty new oak and ripe fruit. However, in the mouth the attractive attack quickly falls away to reveal less intensity and an attenuated, short finish. Drink this wine during the first 5-8 years after its release. All of the wines in this segment were tasted between March 19 and March 28 in Bordeaux. Most of the important wines from both the 1994 and 1995 vintages were tasted three separate times during my ten-day stay in Bordeaux. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #104

Lichine is on a roll. Better than when tasted from barrel earlier this year, this is full-bodied, with wonderful floral and toasted oak aromas, chewy tannins and a long, fruit- and oak-accented finish. A really fine wine. Better in 2000. 20,475 cases made.Wine Spectator 1997
