2005 Potensac

The 2005 Potensac perfectly sums up Bordeaux at its best, in that it has something inimitable, something that one can’t quite describe, but something uniquely special that is impossible to replace. The 2005 vintage is rightly getting press at the moment. This was the first “perfect” vintage of the modern age and the wines are stunningly good. The Potensac is just entering its drinking window and will make excellent drinking now and for the next five to ten years.

A superb value for Jean-Hubert Delon, the 2005 Potensac has a deep ruby/purple color, a classic bouquet of sweet red and black fruits, as well as gorgeous texture and purity. Medium-bodied and concentrated, this wine behaves like a Medoc cru classe. Moreover, it will age very well for 10-15 years. Very impressive! Wine Advocate.August, 2008

Balanced and very pretty, with blackberry, licorice and currant aromas and flavors. Full body, firm tannins and a medium finish. Best after 2008. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2008
