This is concentrated and tannic with lots of juicy fruit, black licorice and tannins. Full and sensible. So much better than 2012.
No tasting note given.
A dark, sensual beauty, the 2014 Marquis de Terme comes across as raw, powerful and not fully developed. Scents of tar, licorice, tobacco and smoke lead to a mid-palate packed with layers of intense, super-ripe black fruits. The style is all about textural voluptuousness. I find the Marquis de Terme a bit forced and over-extracted in style, although it is unquestionably beautiful.
The Château Marquis de Terme 2014 has a forward, fruit-driven bouquet that is not powerful but well-focused with nicely integrated oak. The palate is sweet and chewy on the entry: saturated tannin, good depth of fruit with cedar and smoke infusing the black fruit, easing down towards an easy-going, natural finish that suggests that it may be one of the more approachable Margaux wines of the vintage, though there is some new oak to be absorbed. That does not take away from what is a well-crafted 2014., 2015
