The St Emilion chateau of Evêché is one of Bordeaux’s recent success stories. Purchased by a French millionaire in 2008 the property has seen massive inward investment, meaning that when we sampled some older vintages in the office, the quality really showed through in the glass.
Unsurprisingly perhaps given the spectacular year, the 2010 red and white were huge successes. We loved them and have ring-fenced all we can for our clients as this is very serious Bordeaux at excellent value for money.
The 2010 Bordeaux Blanc (from just across the river to St Emilion & made from vines on a rocky chalky soil) is now a very rare, lovely example of white Bordeaux, leaving many a Burgundy at this price looking very ordinary in comparison.

1400 bottles produced, now only 300 bottles left. Vibrant, open nose of ripe citrus and stone fruits that follow through the palate. Rich, ripe nectarine, peach, lime. Gentle oak notes coming through. Quite a big powerful white, with good acidity and a long finish. (Nov 2015) Drink now-2025
