Average critic rating : 92.5 points

The Les Champs Libres 2014 is pure Sauvignon Blanc picked September 17-22 . It has a smooth and harmonious bouquet with white peach and orange blossom scents–perhaps more seductive and fulfilling than the Grand Village Blanc. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity, Granny Smith apples, hints of walnut and an almost Burgundian finish (perhaps because of the Taransaud barrels.) Lovely saline finish here–an excellent Les Champs Libres. Apr 2015, www.erobertparker.com, Drink: 2017-2029

This is really impressive. Don’t miss it. It is so layered and rich with apples, lemon rind, stones and sea salt. Immensely powerful and ornately complex. Yet it remains so energetic and vibrant. Fabulous. Drafting Domaine de Chevalier here. From owner of Pomerol’s Lafleur. Drink or hold. Feb 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
