Blackberry and mineral on the nose, with dried flowers. Full-bodied, with very silky tannins and a long finish. This is racy and cool
A sensational wine from this Pessac-Leognan estate, the 2009 possesses notes of charcoal, graphite, roasted herbs, truffles, spice box, and luxurious quantities of black currant and black cherry fruit. Full-bodied, impressively endowed. and well under the radar for most consumers, this outstanding wine is a sleeper of the vintage and well worth buying. It should drink well for 15 or more years. Wine Advocate.February, 2012
Tasted at the Pessac UGC. A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, this has a ripe blackberry, raspberry coulis, espresso scented nose that just lacks a little clarity at the moment. Dry tannins greet you on the palate, a rather curmudgeonly Pessac at the moment, with touches of bell pepper interlacing the tannic finish. Hopefully this will mellow and soften throughout its élevage. Tasted April 2010.
Finely dusty cassis. Very slightly herbaceous but smells refined, then spreading savoury flavours on the palate. Fresh finish. (JH) Jancis Robinson,
Dense red, leafy blackcurrant fruit, good density and good tannins, needs to soften the rather raw tannins. Drink 2015-20.
