The 2015 Laforge is a blend taken from the three main terroirs in Saint-Émilion; clay over limestone, gravel and sand. Open-knit, floral aromatics meld into a core of expressive red stone fruits. This is an especially aromatic, lifted Saint-Émilion, which is surprising considering there is less than 10% Cabernet Franc in the blend. I very much like the wine's aromatic precision. Today, the new oak is a bit pronounced, but that should not be an issue once the wine has a bit of bottle age. Apr 2016, www.Vinous.com

A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc from the three terroirs of Saint Emilion, the 2015 Laforge was picked between 21 September and 13 October. It has a sensual purity on the nose; small dark cherries, cassis and violet aromas wafting from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, moderate depth, quite precise with a silky smooth finish that will leave you wanting to take another sip. Nice one, Mr. Maltus. A silky and juicy red with dried berry and blackberry character. Medium to full body. Shows refinement. Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com

Blueberry and raspberry fruit gives this an inviting, forward feel, while alluring notes of ganache and licorice fill in the back end. Lush and frank in style, but still fresh. Mar 2016, James Molesworth, www.WineSpectator.com

Mainly Merlot from a range of terroirs. Spicy and perfumed then bright and lifted on the palate. Clean with well-groomed tannins. Apr 2016, James Lawther MW, www.Decanter.com, Drink: 2020-2027

Made from the best blocks of Château Teyssier, this combines three different terroirs, according to Jonathan Maltus. It’s a plush, dense, late-picked style with lashings of oak complemented by ripe plum, fig and bramble fruit flavours. Apr 2016, www.timatkin.com, Drink: 2020-2025
