This could be better in 2011 than 2009. Perhaps its because of new management team at estate. Full and dense with silky tannins and a long finish. Well done.
A fine, ripe nose. Not exactly high-toned but definitely lifted. The tannins are perhaps a little surly today but it has good rich fruit and a lovely long finish.
A good, winey core of cassis and blackberry is framed by a noticeable plum skin edge that is in turn offset by polished toast. Modern and direct in style. James Molesworth,
Good ripe blackcurrant fruit, richly textured and well-balanced, combining elegance and power. Drink 2015-2025.
A modest, but well-endowed, potential sleeper of the vintage, this 2011 Labegorce comes from an estate that has been revealing signs of a qualitative turn-around. From a challenging vintage, the deep ruby/plum/purple-tinged 2011 exhibits sweet black cherry and black currant fruit, a generous mouthfeel, medium body, ripe tannin and excellent depth as well as purity. Drink it over the next decade. Wine Advocate.April, 2014
