Made in the style of a St.-Emilion garage wine, but revealing a telltale Graves character of smoke, mineral, and hot rocks along with plenty of espresso roast and sweet currant and plum fruit, this opulently-textured 2002 offers noticeable toasty oak interwoven with plum, fig, and black currant fruit. There is good purity and ripeness as well as a surprisingly full-bodied mouthfeel with supple tannins and a silky finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.||This is the luxury cuvee from Chateau Poumey made by Bernard Magrez and his team of wizards led by Michel Rolland. There are approximately 500 cases made, and the blend tends to be about two-thirds Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon. It is an impressive garagiste-styled wine of considerable concentration and character. Wine Advocate.April, 2005
