The 2015 La Petite Marquise is a new second wine from Clos du Marquis, the Delon family's sister estate in Saint-Julien. Rose petal, herb, plum, cherry jam and tobacco are all nicely delineated in this attractive, mid-weight offering. The high percentage of Merlot in the blend gives the 2015 much of its upfront appeal. This plump, juicy Saint-Julien will drink well with minimal cellaring. Apr 2016, www.Vinous.com

The maiden 2015 La Petite Marquise comes from three- to 15-year-old vines within the Clos du Marquis vineyard, because the team did not want to include them in the Grand Vin and also to reinforce the idea that this is a separate cru from Léoville Las-Cases. A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Merlot, it has a fragrant bouquet with blackberry, briary and slightly clayey scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin. It is well balanced, tapers slightly to the finish, but there is plenty of freshness and it should drink nicely over the next 4-6 years. Apr 2016, www.eRobertParker.com, Drink: 2017-2025

This is the new second wine from Clos du Marquis. A bright and fruity wine with lively acidity and mineral and clarity. A little more merlot than the first wine. Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com

52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot. Brand-new second wine of Clos du Marquis (which comes from a separate plot and is not a second wine of Las Cases). Young vines. Putty nose and very dry on the end. Comes to a bit of a screeching halt. 13.85%. Apr 2016, www.JancisRobinson.com, Drink: 2020-2026

This is the second wine of Clos du Marquis, often (incorrectly) considered a second wine of Léoville-Las-Cases, released for the first time in 2015. It’s an easy drinking, fruit forward St. Julien showing aromatic red fruits, a touch of oak and succulent tannins. Apr 2016, www.timatkin.com, Drink: 2019-2023
