One of the best La Gardes I’ve tasted, this has benefitted from the addition of Semillon in 2015. Balanced, refined and deftly oaked, it’s a focused, chiselled white with sappy acidity, pink grapefruit and lemon grass flavours and a dusting of baking spices. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2017-2022
The 2015 La Garde Blanc has a lifted lime, white peach and white flower-scented bouquet that is probably more complex than I was expecting. The palate is fresh and crisp with gooseberry, lime and pear notes. The acidity is well judged and it sashays to a tensile finish that leaves a salty residue in the mouth. It does everything you expect from a white Bordeaux and it should represent great value for money. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2019-2030
Third vintage. 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Sauvignon Gris. Just bottled! Big, fat aromas - just a little bit tarty on the nose. Good grip on the palate but a hint of fermentation aromas robs it of real class. Nice, fun wine - if it's not too expensive. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2016-2018
